How many miles on the Vette?
Was the battery recently disconnect (or run down)?
I have read before one needs to drive the car a hundred or two miles to set the smog data in the Vette's smog setup computer.
Further, there may be a specific GM driving scenario/ setup/ instructions, such as varying rpm for "x" number of miles, that can be followed.
Yes you need 1000 ish miles. I did the whole sequence for all sensors multiple times. The last 2 were the same as yours and went away at 1000 miles on the dot.
I'm assuming the OP purchased his car out of state and now has to get a smog check to get it registered. Purchasing a new car from an in-state and not having to get it inspected is standard.
The car's computer is looking for some specific driving conditions to be met before it knows everything is OK and is ready for an inspection. You can Google GM Drive Cycle for more information. So, depending on how the car is driven, it can take hundreds of miles before it is ready.
I’m buying my car from a local dealer, but having it delivered at the museum. I would assume that my local dealer would be the dealer of record. VA doesn’t require an emission test on new cars for the first 3 years, so I should be OK.
It is standard on all cars and pretty annoying. The evap system requires a really goofy and specific sequence of the car being at certain speeds for a certain period of time.
I struggled getting the monitors set on BMWs, Hondas, and other cars after ECU resets. Huge PITA.
