I apologize if this has been answered before. I've done several searches and can't seem to find an answer. Is it necessary to remove the front caliper to replace the brake pads on a non Z-51 C8? I know the rear pads are held in with a retainer spring and 2 pins. It appears the fronts on my non Z-51 are very similar, but I don't want to make any assumptions. It's easy for me to raise on corner of the car. If I have to get both front wheels off the ground to access the caliper bolts that's more of a challenge.

the caiipers do not need to come off. The fronts have Torx 40 screws that have to be removed that the rears do not. That’s the only difference.
actually, I was wrong. The front calipers on the non-Z51 do not have the 40x Torx screw. I just changed my pads. The 40x screw must be only on the larger Z51 calipers. Also, there was no tape securing the pads to the piston that many complain about.

What pads are you going to use & why the change ? My non-Z51 throws dust like crazy & covers the rear of the car like ferry dust
