I purchased a brand new 2022 C8 from a dealer in Texas and had it transported via a covered truck to CA. I made sure to order the C8 with the 50 state and CA emissions package. To register it I needed to have the VIN verified and pass a SMOG test (and of course pay the sales tax and registration fees). I paid $85 for a certified VIN verification service to come to my house rather than track down a CHP officer or wait at the DMV. Super easy and no problems (that I know of yet). First attempt at passing SMOG at around 500 miles failed due to the car's sensors not all being activated yet, particularly the O2 sensor. At 700 miles I tried again as the SMOG technician said I just needed to drive it more to activate all the sensors. It failed again for the same reason. I then looked at this here forum and followed the sensor activation steps. I could not follow all the steps exactly but when I tried at 900 miles it passed.
Just schedule an appointment with a smog referee. They will do an smog on your car and can override to make it pass. I had to do that with my C8 back in March.
Glad to hear you got it passed. For anyone in the future that has this problem and finds this post, The smog readiness tests aren't finished. That's all. The evap and O2 tests tend to be the slowest since they're particularly picky about the distance you've driven and if they got to the optimal temperature. emissions-wise the car is passing, so don't stress it. the longer the distance the better if you're trying to rush it. A few good cruises and you'll be set. You can also check these using a cheap OBD scanner.

any issues using the vin verification service? And if you’re in SoCal can you post who you used?
