Just curious if anyone else has had issues getting their Blendmount WireTap to work properly on their HTC or coupe with 2LT/3LT. My issue is getting the wire to "sit properly" so I get constant power once the car is turned on. I'm using the MT5015 which is for Escort brand products.
I have watched the "supplied" video several times
I am able to get power at times, but it doesn't "stay on"
I even had someone at a stereo shop give it a shot and he had the same issue
Thank you for your help and.or guidance, I appreciate it.
Mine works perfectly on my 2LT, but it is a very snug fit and nearly impossible to see. I used a small plastic pry tool to move the wires out of the way. You can try inserting the blades either above or below the wires; it did take a fair amount of pressure to squeeze the blade in.
I took my roof panel off and did it outside for the most possible light.
Mine worked okay. As the previous person said, it takes a fair amount of pressure to get it pushed in. I have a HTC. I put the top down and did it outside. It sure wasn't easy.
I don't have the blendmount, but one I got from Amazon. Wouldn't be surprised if its the exact same wire assembly. Anyway, yes, I had a hard time getting it to sit firmly. I had to struggle with it for a while to get it right, but now it's tight and has stayed that way.

Seems strange that tapping into the mirror power supply could cause an over voltage condition on the side mirrors but that's what it says...
