Default Cicio Performance C8 Trackday Packages!

Hey Gang,

With the growing popularity of our customers tracking their C8’s we noticed an opportunity to help simplify and enhance the experience by offering a Track Day Package.
The Track Day Package is composed of parts that we have tested and developed with some of the top manufacturers in the industry. We have proven first hand that these components work very well together.
Figuring out what parts bring the best results on track can be a very time consuming and sometimes frustrating process. The good news is that we have done all of this for you so you can rest assured that you’re getting the best components for the car to decrease lap times and increase driver confidence!

The first thing we improved upon was the factory suspension.

We worked very hard with MCS (Motion Control Suspension) to develop a system that kept the comfortable street characteristics of the car but gave more confidence around the track.
There were several factors leading to the decision to use MCS as our suspension partner. First was naturally their race bred quality, the passion for racing excellence is something we share. Secondly, they are located less than 5 miles from us. Conveniently enough they are also fellow corporate sponsors of the Road Atlanta Driving Club which gave us ample opportunity to be on track with the suspension engineer right alongside of us. That may or may not sound like that big of a deal but I can assure you it aided strongly in the development of an uncompromising solution. We had our local pro drivers in the car alongside MCS leading to several valving updates in addition to spring updates. We’re proud of the results and know you will be truly impressed with the difference.

The next thing we upgraded on the car was the factory brakes.

We quickly realized the factory setup was not up to the task. While the electronic braking system tries it’s best to eliminate brake fade, it simply isn’t equipped for decently heavy track use.
We solved this issue by upgrading the rotors to a girodisc two piece rotor in the front and rear as well as Carbotech race brake pads. Using these in conjunction with upgraded steel brake lines and high temp racing brake fluid, we were able to keep the car out for full track sessions while maintaining consistent pedal feel and performance.

With all of that said; we’ve put together some packages that will suit any level of track enthusiast. Whether you’re only going to be on track for a couple of days a year, or you’re building a full-out time attack race car, we have the package and knowledge to help.

Below are some one stop options that can also be configured ala-carte with a simple inquiry to sales@cicioperformance.com

Standard Track Day Package - $9700 Installed

Includes:
  • Cicio Performance Spec 2-Way Non-Remote Coilover System by MCS
  • Girodisc 2 Piece Rotors
  • Carbotech XP10 Brake Pads
  • Spiegler Stainless Brake Lines

Attachment 48337982
Attachment 48345627
Attachment 48345628
Attachment 48345629
Attachment 48345630

Standard Plus Track Day Package - $12,000 Installed
Includes everything from our Standard Package with the addition of:
  • Peitz Performance / Paragon Performance Harness Bar
  • Schroth 4 Point Harness System

The factory C8 seat options can provide a decent amount of support for the driver but the factory 3 point seat belt leaves the driver still having to fight to support themselves in the vehicle. This results in the driver having to use more energy on track leading to reduced track time.

Attachment 48334244

Advanced Track Day Package - $22,500 Installed

We also have an advanced Track Day Package for those looking to maximize the potential of their C8 on Track!
This package comes with every component in the Standard Plus Track Day Package with the addition of:
  • LG Motorsports GT2 Front Splitter
  • LG Motorsports GT2 Rear Wing
  • Verus Engineering Rear Diffuser

Attachment 48334245
Attachment 48345631

I cant say enough good things about the MCS suspension. Real game changer on the car; the effort that went into the this car to make it perform as well as it does now cant be said enough.

Interesting since the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School runs thrir C8's all day everyday with only ghe addition of high temp brake fluid with no issues as well ss adding the 2 quarts if transmission fluid. Other than that everything else is stock with no issues regarding braking or suspension. Why change whats working at a place that's running C8's at the extreme daily

I think its fair to say that just because the Ron Fellows driving school doesn't upgrade the suspension on the factory C8 doesn't mean it isn't an improvement.. The driving school is a business and therefore will want to limit their overhead as much as possible which means they aren't going to spend money improving the cars since they are decent out of the box.

The new Z06 won't have the same suspension or brakes as the current Stingray, I promise GM wouldn't have changed it if it wasn't an improvement because they are a business as well.

No one is trying to say the C8 isn't capable on track out of the box but to argue that a motorsports grade suspension setup isn't an improvement or that upgrading the brakes isn't an improvement is easily proven wrong by the data we have collected on track. We dropped several seconds with just the addition of the coilers before we even messed with brakes, aero, etc.

Thanks

Any issues with pad knockback with the larger rotors? I’ve had that experience with other cars after spacing out the caliper

That’s bullshit to think the Ron Fellows school ( originally the Rupert Bragg-Smith school) drives the car anywhere near the limits as compared to a seasoned driver on the racetrack. I know those guys well and went to Rupert’s Corvette schools years ago before getting into racing. You’re comparing apples to an elephant.

PS: In my opinion the biggest shortcoming of the C8 for the track, which leads to the upgrades, is it is a heavy pig. With fuel and a driver it weighs in at approximately 4000 pounds. If 800 pounds could be removed and the HP increased by 150 are so, that car would be a beast.

i havent seen any issues with knockback. Of course with any floating rotor knockback can become a thing, however i have never experienced it on a C8 be it with new brake pads or substantially worn brake pads. I do think it is good practice to ensure the pads are set prior to a big brake zone.

I'm faster in the C8 now than i was in the Gt3... confidence in the car and more confidence as a driver is what has lead to that. The Gt3 is the faster car though, it makes a little more power which gives it a bit more power down the back straight at road atlanta. I do a lot of data comparisons with a GT3 RS, the RS has a 7mph advantage down the back straight which may not sound like a ton but that contributes to a 1 second advantage in lap time in just the back straight.

The fact that we are able to make comparisons with a 250K car with my 70K car is pretty incredible in my mind. I enjoy beating up the C8 far more than i did my Gt3.

For anyone interested here is a thread I did that discusses the car a little bit: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-modified.html
If anything it shows how serious we took development of the suspension with MCS.

I would love to see pictures of how your wing is mounted

also, how much work/ tuning did you do to balance out the wing with the front splitter? I’d hate to throw the balance off but if your more confident than in a gt3 it has to be pretty good

my c8 is going to be a track day toy when I don’t want to bother hauling the race car out

Aero Balance is quite good stock, truth be told after the splitter and wing install we needed minimum adjustment. Our resident pro driver Seth Thomas was pretty pleased with the aero balance on day 1 in the car with the aero. The car was much more confidence inspiring following the aero upgrade.

The wing is chassis mounted to the frame, deck lid is cut for the wing, and then recently we 3D printed some parts to make where the wing comes through the decklid more visually appealing.

awesome. I also never saw your other big thread documenting all the upgrades. reading that now. I had called several companies selling wings (I think even lg) and got a very "form over function" vibe. the idea of significant down force on a deck lid or bumper cover seems kinda sketch to me. Other questions ill ask in the big thread so it keeps things in one place.

Main thing I think you need to ask yourself... Would you stand on the decklid of the C8? If you dont feel comfortable standing on the decklid you probably shouldnt be mounting a wing to it. haha.

I know Verus & Paragon performance are about to release their wing for the C8, will be interesting to see how they addressed the stress to the decklid.

I should probably update that thread, i havent in a bit. Lots of new progress on the car.
