My guess is yes, but only in the filter, but otherwise it appears GM did a pretty nice job designing the airbox and system as a whole.

No way I’m installing a new filter for 6-7hp. Too much crap to take out of a brand new car.

I'll do a swap when it's time to replace my oem air filter. Not worth the effort for a few HP on just a filter swap.

Still waiting on some Halltech before and after dyno from Paragon, Katech or from a reputable company.

Paragon confirmed to me today that their intake dyno shootout is coming within weeks.

Yeah Kracka, I kind of believe so regarding GM airbox design. My other option was to possibly get Carlos Rios of Naples Florida to modify the stock airbox. It appears that he may be getting similar gains similar to the aftermarket shops. Rios stated that he should be done around about this time or next week. Rios also has an in shop dyno for testing. But he also takes his bolt on C8 to the track. Keeping the OEM airbox in place would be tremendous. So after speaking to him briefly it sounded like there was some horsepower gains from the stock airbox.

Very interesting! Keep me posted; would love to see some pictures too. I'd anyone is in need of a nearly new AttackBlue air filter let me know, I'll be removing mine this weekend as my new intake is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.
