Default NoviStretch Bra?

I am sure this has been discussed but I can't really find any definitive feedback so I thought I would spin up a thread and ask. I realize, short of PPF, there is nothing that will protect the front end of the car from a rock flying off the back of a semi coming at you like a bullet but with a ceramic coated car and the the NoviStretch Bra will that provide any additional protection against light road debris, bugs, dirt and other crap that might be kicked up? Or is this thing really a total waste of money?? Thanks in advance for any input...

Don't think you really need a bra.

PPF my C8 (16 months ago) the bumper and rocker panels with the thicker upgraded Suntec 11.5 mil ultra defense and the rest of the full front with the regular PPF. Not one chip on the 11.5 ultra defense.

Do have one pen hole chip on the hood and in hindsight possibly should have done the full front with the 11.5 ultra defense. That ultra PPF is durable GL

Thanks for that. I guess I am fighting doing PPF since I just had the entire car paint corrected and ceramic coated. I am being told to PPF the front I need to first have them remove the ceramic coating that was just installed. :-( I was thinking the NoviStretch bra might provide some additional protection to avoid the pain of installing PPF post ceramic...

Living in Florida I have the Front Clip with PPF and the whole car ceramic coated. If I am taking a long road trip I due put on the Novistretch Bra for added protection and to keep all the Love Bugs off. Easy on easy off added protection never a bad thing

Novistretch works great for bugs and small stones. Mine eventually tear though since they need to fit tight. Im on my 3rd one.

I received lots of responses on the forum back when I had my C7. Comments like: you don’t need it or complete waste of money. I bought it anyway.

My VERY FIRST Roadtrip was driving through California I stoppedat a rest stop after getting out of the car I looked at the bra….it was FILLED with cotton woods. Happened again when I was driving through Idaho during harvest season. The entire bra was covered in hay chaff. That bra caught more road debris, bugs, tree stuff then I can count.

To me the NoviStretch Bra is a requirement for any long distance driving.

Specially before grill inserts and any PPF or Ceramic.

PPF or Ceramic does nothing to protect the radiators and because most grill inserts have large diameter slots for air to pass through a fair amount of debris will pass through. Just say’n.

Oh yes absolutely but I was referring to your comment about saving the whole front temporary with the bra. Like for me the drive back to keep bugs and anything else from too much abrasion etc.

This is my plan as well, some protection is better than none.

Ceramic won't protect the paint from chips. Think of it as a very hard, long lasting wax. It's a microscopically thin coating that isn't going to do anything against a rock.

Neither will a Novistretch. It's thin enough you can see through it. It offers about as much protection as your wife's panty hose would: some protection against bugs and dirt, maybe fine sand and pollen, but not much more. The first long trip I took with a Novi' on my C7 I came back with half a dozen little rock chips.

A clear bra like PPF will offer some protection. A thick vinyl bra, like Colgan, will offer the most:

Default Novistretch Bra Definitely Worth It

I had the front clip with PPF and used the bra when I went anywhere and would take it off at car shows. Some people ended up getting tears on their bra, but I never left mine on. I always took it off when I returned home so it got less wear and tear. I had mine on my C7 for years and it was like it was brand new and I used it on every trip. It is worth every penny.

I had a Novi Stretch bra on my C7 for long trips. I regret not getting it sooner because I had several little pin sized nicks on my C7. But they won't stop a large stone but it will stop bugs and other flying crap on the highway. So now I have one for my C8. They're easy to clean and better than nothing.

Very happy with mine!! Picked up my C8 from the museum 3/24/2022 and drove 990 miles to home, Davie Fl. Once home I removed the bra and the front of the car and radiators were intact, no visible damage. I installed the protective screens afterwards, the front and side vents. I will use the bra again for any long trip....

Nothing will stop everything, but you need to do the best you can. Mainly, I keep my distance from the cars and trucks ahead of me.
I bought the Novistretch bra so I could make the 2.5 hour drive home from the dealership to avoid any damage. I kept the bra on for a couple of weeks until I got the PPF put on.
I still use the bra for long distance highway drives. I also bot the Novistretch mirror covers, even though PPF on them.
I consider the Novistretch an added protection for small stuff; bugs, sticks, sand, etc.

I would never go on a road trip without the Novi Stretch. Even use it around town. Take it off for Vette washing only (and wash the Novi Stretch when wash Vette). Also recommend their mirror protection on road trips. A bit tricky to mount but once you do it a few times they are easy to install.
