I’m down to 29% and haven’t done my free service yet, one year up in July. Should I take it in or wait a bit, 2000 on the ODO.

I am going to wait until the Oil Life Monitor tells me to take it in, or the twelve month mark - whichever comes first. On my C6 that was below 10% if I recall correctly.

You have 24 months (or 7,500 miles whichever comes first) to use the freebie; I'd suggest paying for or doing your own oil change at the 1-year mark then getting the free service done prior to the 2-year mark (or 7,500 miles).

No reason to do anything now with only 2k miles and still showing 29%.

0% after 12 months on the C7 & C8.

Pay for this oil change, then use the free service next time with the DCT filter. You don't need to change the DCT filter yet, and if you use the free service on only the oil change you'll have to pay for the DCT filter when it's due.

Yep wait until around July. It will read 0 at 12 months if you're not close to 7500 miles. ine started to tell me at 10% on the dash display. by the time I could get an appointment it was downd to 5% with less than 4000 miles.

My suggestion, as I did, is have the DCT filter changed at the same time. That required a flush prior to the filter change as it said on my Tech's computer to remove any debris that has accumulated and have it collected by the filter. All on GM's dime. (Note the flush tanks about 10 minutes with your car connected to the GM computer. It cycles vales etc.) Waiting won't save that much if only getting to 7500 miles in year 3. That is when you'll need to have the 10.6 quarts of fluid changed per Note 4 in the Maintenance Table in the Owner's Manual (45,000 miles OR 3 Years whichever occurs 1st.) Replacing the fluid is NOT free! I will probably elect to get a new filter at that time so the filter cost will be on me.

My plan is to have another DCT filter replaced at that time. Frankly with some folks having CELs that require a flush (for some it just goes away by itself) a flush is a "good thing." My observation re the clutches being someone jerky up to about 500 miles when crawling at about 3 mph indicates the multidisc clutches were wearing in. Perhaps some of the roughness was caused by the clutch disk material mating!

Flush before my DCT filter change per M instructions. Takes about 10 minutes and you can hear "stuff' going on and see what is happening on the PC. It's connected to my OCD port and GM's computer via WiFi
