Default Mass airflow sensor connector

I am trying to disconnect the mass airflow sensor connector as part of the track fill procedure. I can't get it to come loose and I'm not really experienced with these connectors so I'm afraid to break it. There is a tab that slides but when I do that the connector is still not loose so there must be another part of the connector that needs to be pressed in or pried up or some other trick. Can anyone tell me how to disconnect that connector without breaking it?

Here are two images showing the tab in normal position and the tab slid back. What to do next? (n.b. I am not a mechanic but my brother used to be one, Now he is a farmer.)

Tab slid out, now press down to release and pull it off the sensor.

I'm sorry to be so dense but press down on what? On the tab?

Thanks!

You should be able to feel the button that you can now press down as sliding the tab out unlocks it.

Some harnesses on this car are harder than others. Even after I've removed them multiple times. But there's no doubt they seal tight.
