Default C8 Z51 Weight

Finally got my car in the lift the other day and weighed it. Not bad for a 3lt with front lift. Also forgot the noco jump box in the frunk. Has 5lb fire extinguisher and front and rear tow hooks. Otherwise completely stock.

Still a little heavier than my 2016 z06 weighing in a little under 3400 pounds. We'll see how much a set of Forgelines, front and rear essex ap racing brakes, and an akrapovic ti exhaust will shave off the total weight. : ) Thats pretty much it for planned mods on this one. Well maybe an antigravity battery if the one in the c7 holds up.

Pans out with official numbers. I think the things you forgot in the car make up for not having a full tank?

Hmmm... I have a little less fuel and exact options as your car. Why such a discrepancy? The noco jump box doesn't weigh much neither does the fire extinguisher and tow hooks. Where did you weigh your car?

At my Corvette shop. Intercomp scale system. Several cars on it this year. Corresponds with other scale systems at tracks.
Car has Expel ppf, Alcantara everything & hi wing. Saw another C8 on scales at 3460. Don't remember options or fuel load. Setting your car down from the hoist may have jacked the readings. The suspension will sideload the scales. I set it on turn tables zeroed out when doing it from the hoist.

I have a driver side only Racetech seat coming so I'll be maybe 35-40lbs less. Not sure what a 2LT seat weighs, I'm guessing 55-60lbs. But I'll let you guys know when.

I agree. But what really confuses me is why the front is so relatively heavy. The rear obviously has a lot of pieces and parts stuffed behind the driver, but what heavy parts are sitting up front to get over 1400 pounds on the front axle?

I'm new with the scales but wondered that too. Am I effing them up because of side loads setting the car down on them. What are u using slip plates? A pic would help me alot. Would like the most accurate readings possible. Thanks in advance.

LG shop C8 is 3,450 with a full tank. Should shed another 50 when we swap to AP's and a lightweight battery.

Just started shedding pounds. Lifetime warranty battery (when purchased from fcp euro) with 60ah capacity and sheds 22lbs!

Got Ramps and reweighed the car with a completely full tank and removed all the junk inside lol.

3664# not to bad. I took the fire extinguisher out but the bracket is still installed.

3634# was the previous weight setting the car down with the lift. That was with fire extinguisher and all junk inside and a little less than 3/4 of a tank of fuel.

Not sure how much the number changed but when I reweighed my c7 z06 it was off by quite a bit. It was lighter by about 50 pounds just setting it down on the pads.. I was hoping it would be the other way around lol.

I have another Racetech seat coming (passenger) so that will be another 40 lbs saved.

How was the install? I probably won't do it on my c8. I have 3lt and like the seat cooling. My c7z is 1lz so it didn't matter. The seats aren't as nice as the c8's. I lost the side airbags and power adjustment but I didn't use or need that anyway. Making the stock c7z seatbelts works was/is a pita and I haven't found a dummy plug for it to get rid of the warning lights. I found one for c6s but not c7s. What did u do for seatbelts and electronics?

I installed a set of recaro speed v's with there sliders and brackets. Was a solid 15# loss per seat plus the seats have much better support for track use. Definitely like the 30# loss! Would like a set of carbon tillets for even more but want to keep stock seatbelts for now.

Pretty easy install. The pain is getting the right position. That took several times. Removing the top makes in and out easy.
