Default Racetech Seat Installed

Generation, Year, and Model: C8, 21, 2LT Z51

Driver Seat: Racetech 4100WT w/ 30mm side inserts

Driver Mount: AMT

Driver Sub Belt: AMT

Harness Bar or Cage: Paragon Harness Bar

Interior? Full

Carpet? Yes

Stock Belts in car? No

Driver: 5’6” 195 40” true waist size even though they deem I wear 34” shorts. Lol. I’m full throughout.

Just install Racetech 4100WT in my C8 with 6pt harness. Besides adjusting several times to get the right position I liked. It really was a simple job. Just perfect enough room width wise as seen in the pic on both sides. As most others with a wide version I had to mount the seat brackets on the outside only due to the inside hull (what would be the transmission tunnel) is closer to the edge of the bracket than it is on the driver side. It needed to be this way due to the harness and how it runs along the hull on both sides and crosses over. Didn’t want it remotely close in case rubbing may have been a factor. Even with the tall version there’s still 3.5” between the top of the seat and roof. I did originally fit in the standard seat but a little snug right at my hips while also making my thighs feel to narrow throughout. I felt this would of cause stress when tracking in the long run and wanted the comfort when casually driving. But I bought the 30mm inserts for the wide version for track days, which I could probably go either way. It fits great for myself. Really happy about this seat. It was truly needed for the track. To much moving around and bracing myself during all turns. The 6 point Schroth harness is really nice. Easy to adjust and the 2” is amazing over any 3”. Especially when using a HANS device.

This seat is even lighter now at 16.8lbs. It was 18.8. With the AMT mount and seat it also comes out to 18.8 total according to my bathroom scale. The stock 2LT seat came in at 59.8. 41lbs savings. Only doing driver side for now. Not to mention I’ve lost 51lbs since Dec and plan to lose 15 more.

AMT truly makes the best mount I’ve ever seen or worked with. Light weight with endless amount of adjustability.

Excited to see more C8s going off the deep end! Do you intend to swap the seat in and out for track use? That's my plan whenever the car actually gets here...

Thanks. I’m not sure. I do take the car out weekly but not on long trips. The Racetechs are very comfortable. Either way it’s an easy swap. It would be safer to swap to have all the airbags in my favor.
