C8 Key Fob

Hello,
just bought a 2020 C8 and when trying to set the memory seat I get an error message on the dash saying "memory features for key fob #3 unavailable. I can't find anything online for this on how to correct this. Anyone have any idea?

No I didn't, and unfortunately this is the only key fob they gave me.

Oh - ok, so you want to change key 3 to be key 1 or key 2 I think. I don't know how to do that, or if it can even be done. If you have a new key programmed, all the "lost or stolen" ones will no longer work with the car. Which would be a good thing, since you dont have the other two, right?

By the way, the above statement from the manual appears to say that any "existing keys must be reprogrammed". That seem to say that the dealer could reprogram the key you have - perhaps without having to buy another new key. But it looks like the dealer needs to do it.

Correct, just sucks that I have to keep adjusting the seats every time I get it in.

You can still program the seat, steering wheel and mirror settings to the #1 or #2 buttons on the door. Then you'll just have to press and hold that button to get everything adjusted. Better than manually adjusting everything.

A dealer can reprogram your fob / computer to be key #1 (and if you buy a second fob #2.) With only one fob, you can't program another fob yourself, so you'll need to go to the dealer (or maybe a good locksmith) if you want two fobs. if you're going to get a 2nd fob, make sure you get both programmed at the same time, or they'll charge you twice.
