I installed Eibach springs on my non-Z51 non lift C8 which lowered my car 1.1" all the way around. Looks great but the front end scrapes A LOT now, like everywhere I go. Has anyone done anything to create extra clearance upfront? It looks like the only thing scraping is a small duct that hangs down in front of the front wheels. I'm assuming they're for brake cooling. It looks like it could be trimmed or possibly even removed. From what I can see it looks like that little duct is held on with it's own fasteners. With all the lowered C8's out there I was wondering if anyone has done that. I have not scraped my front splitter, just these little ducts and it's really only the drive side one that scrapes.
So I have these springs but not yet installed. But have noticed the clearance issues with the car lowered on the factory perches. I was looking at where it sits now thinking when I did install the springs it would scrub on everything. As I have few inches from ground now at this same area you are talking about, which I think these ducts are to flow air comes through the A/C condenser.
I guess leave it be and add some adhesive with a titanium thin plate on those ducts lol. Little sparks isnt going to hurt anything! #Thatlowlife
There's a little bit of irony in "I lowered my car, now it scrapes, what can I do to gain ground clearance?"
If you're scraping "ALOT" like you say, you might only have one solution - raise the car. Otherwise, you can either shield the scraping areas or try to relocate them so they are mounted a bit higher. Other than that, try taking a different approach angle.
It's not an approach angle issue, the nose of the car has never scraped anything. It's the ducts that hang down just in front of the wheels, they're the lowest part of the car. I can be on an almost flat road, hit a bump and hear them scrape. There's quite a few cars on this forum lower than mine, so I figured someone would have addressed this issue by now. There's no irony, it comes with the territory of lowering a car. I'm asking exactly what you stated, has anyone in your words "shield the scraping areas or try to relocate them so they are mounted a bit higher" ....which was my initial question using slightly different words.

Well said! This part is the lowest that I can tell and I'm wondering the same since good many are lower than mine as well. I hit the angels and not hit the splitter but those ducts are hitting. Even some hard cornering I heard them hit but was also a dip in the turn. So when I Install the springs I can fine tune the drop with the perches but don't see me going as low as I wanted due to those things.
