Default Differential oil level

How do you check the differential oil level on a non Z51 differential?

There is no independent differential fluid; it's the DCT fluid. Base or Z51 the procedure is the same.

Ok, Thanks
I just got a 23 and noticed a slight whine with light acceleration at around 55-60 mph

Let the dealer check it out if it's concerning. You can always have them add the 2qt track overfill too.

Here is the procedure for checking the level, from the 2020 Service Manual. Notice it says the level must be checked after warming up the transmission fluid. (as mentioned already, it is a transaxle so there is no separate differential.

I'm not saying that your symptom is because of low fluid - but if the fluid level was low - I would want it topped off under warranty so that I had a record, in case of a future problem.

^^^
This is a simpler pic than the detail Andy shows. To change the DCT filter, located near the check level plug, have to remove the aluminum aero panel (GM calls it a shear plate as it has a structural function as well.) Believe that has to be removed to access the plug. You can top off the fluid in that hole as well. When I had my DCT filter changed that is where the Dealer tech added ~8 oz of fluid that came out with the filter.

Plenty of fluid covering all gears re lubrication. Would have to have a leak to have it low IMO.
