savewave ; I am a new member and not sure how to get the following information to the right folks. I bought my 2022 C-8 about Dec. 29th 2021. The VIN# is: 1G1YB2D44N5109165. I drove the car according to break-in requirements. On Feb.15, with less than 2000 miles on the car, the transmission sounded bad and the engine light came on and my Chevy App. said, "transmission problem take it to a dealer immediately". I took it in to Van Chevrolet in Scottsdale. I got the car back 6 weeks later on March 29th. They said they replaced the Transmission Valve Body. On May 1st I shipped the C-8 from Scottsdale to my home in Denver. I was fearful something might go wrong if I drove it over the mountains. On May 8th, the Engine Light came on again and the transmission was slow to engage from a dead stop. The C-8 has been at Ed Bozarts Chevrolet since May 8th. The Service Terch. says after being in the shop for almost two months, it needs a complete new transmission and he has no idea where to look or how to get one shipped to the dealership. And that is the reason for this post. I have owned my C-8 almost seven months and have driven altogether less than six weeks. The reason for this post is to ask if anyone knows whom I can contact to locate a transmission and get it shipped to Bozarts here in Denver. Thank You very much. John Currie at redleoone@gmail.com
Sounds like you need to locate a dealer who knows what they are doing. Transmissions might have some lead time now - I don't know the current situation - but it is definitely a warranty issue and your dealer should have run it through GM tech support to diagnose it as a faulty transmission get approval to order another one. If they haven't done that then something is fishy. If there is just a long wait for a warranty replacement transmission no one else will be to get one any faster.
I would try a different dealer and/or contact GM customer service. I think the number is in the Owner's Manual. The dealer may not know how long it will be to get one, but they should know how to order one.
