I have a question. I have a C8 2020 HTC Z51 with Mag Ride and I was thinking of putting on 20 mm wheel spacers on both the front and back wheels. However, I have read a comment sometime earlier this year where someone had the opinion that they are not safe to use. Is that true and why or why not???
Not looking for someone's opinion but someone who knows the facts about this question. I don't want to damage my C8 for obvious reasons, I am not tracking the car but I will do an occasional drag race whenever I can get down to Mexico.
Wheel spacers that don't have their own studs may be unsafe to use if you don't replace the factory studs with longer ones because they reduce the amount of thread available for the lug nuts. Spacers that have their own studs (like paragon 20mm spacers) are safe to use, do not cause factory tires to rub, and don't even require a re-alignment. They may, however, require you to grind down the tips of the factory studs, depending on which wheels you have (how much clearance the wheel pockets have).
