Just turned 5 k on my 3 month old 2022 Z51 3000 in a trip to and though the black hills car was awesome loved every mile only complaint was the brake dust I was cleaning the polished wheels daily , I’m about to install new ceramic power stops do I need to do any thing with the rotors to properly bed the brakes ?

Nope. They bed to stock rotors just fine using 50 to 20 then 70 to 20mph stops.

Not a peep from mine and great stopping power

Good to hear Thankyou while I’ve always bedded brakes moving up to more aggressive Speeds as you did Powerstop on their box says 30-5. 30 times 30 seconds apart

Ok installed the power stops last night and bedded them this morning I had the pads before I even got the car in May but was spooked by the stories throwing codes and the glued pads . I should have done them earlier as it was really quite easy I disconnected the battery as a precaution pulled the calipers off with the wheels turned in standard breaker bar loosened the bolts with modest effort then laid caliper on a foam pad on a milk crate to keep the stress offf of the brake line then removed the four star bolts holding pads with a sharpened 1 1/2 “ putty knife carefully broke loose the bond and pads fell right out cleaned any residual glue off pistons and new pads went in had to push pads into the springy hardware a little to get the 4 bolts in not hard to do didn’t even have to push in pistons as the power stops are slightly thinner re install calipers lock tight all bolts . Back Was super easy knock out pins swap pads tap in pins then with battery still disconnected pumped brakes using short pumps till peddle felt right bedded by 30-5 and and worked my way up to 70-20 even with an aggressive bedded almost zero dust can’t believe I stressed out over this the only thing lost was window indexing and seat memory and tire sensors but they came back soon after . Anyone familiar with basic brake work should have no problem . Hopes this helps anyone contemplating the same job

While he didn't say which model powerstop, everyone uses the z26. Its what i also currently use for the steet driving and they're great. Outstanding holding up to heat. Just did braking from 172mph last week. Great modulatio. Great cold stop performance. 80 percent less dust

Sorry so long getting back I used the Z16 evolution I see no drop off at all from the Brembo pads , the Brembos would probably be better under extreme conditions but I’ll probably never go there . Seems like less than 20% of the dust no more brown polished wheels definitely worth doing and if you want to do a track day it’s really easy to swap back pads ! Didn’t touch the stock rotors
