"The Chevrolet Complete Care program is extending the Included Maintenance timing requirements for the owners of the Chevrolet Corvette (C8) to come in to dealerships for their 1st service visit. For owners of a 2020 and newer Corvette, the allowed timing is being increased from 12 months to 36 months. This new timing is more suitable for the driving habits experienced with Corvette owners.

The Chevrolet Included Maintenance 1st Service Visit includes:
One (1) covered OIL CHANGE visit within 3 years1 of ownership which includes:
  • Oil and filter change using Mobil1 oil and ACDelco oil filter
  • Transmission fluid filter change (see GM Service Information document ID 5384826)
  • Multipoint Vehicle Inspection:

Concierge says 36 months. You say 24 months. This is a red herring and has no bearing on the real issue, except for those who want to confuse the issue.
You can have your oil changed 5 times before you have your 1st "free" (you paid for the 1st service as part of the purchase price) service visit if you want as long as you pay for it. They will still give you the 1st visit for free as long as you request it within the first 2 years. They are just extending the time period for the 1st (and only) visit that GM will pay for. This was done because the DCT filter shouldn't be changed until the 7500 mile DCT break-in has been completed and many people put less than 7500 miles/year on their car. That does not relieve you of abiding by the scheduled maintenance per the owners manual. Do you think that people that track their car can wait 2 years to have their oil changed because this supersedes the owner's manual? How about people that put 15K miles per year on their car? Can they wait for 2 years for their first oil change? You still need to change your oil when the OLM says to.

You are avoiding the issue of what Concierge clearly said, be it 24 months or 36 months.Saying 36 instead of 24 could be a memory issue: the rest they said was not.

I'm not suggesting I would risk voiding a warranty over a mistake by Concierge. (By the way, my warranty was extended to 48 months/75,000 miles)

However, in my many years of running many high performance European and Asian cars (Porsches, Jaguars, Mercedes, Citroen Maseratis, Audis, BMW's, Saab, Alfa, Fiat, Vespa, Bentley, etc, with more sophisticated engines than a pushrod 6.2, I'm convinced oil in a car does not age-out in a couple years. I've never seen a best before date on a quart, liter or gallon of oil.The cheapest vegetable oil lasts longer than what the car companies say about their 10.00 per qt synthetic oil!

The concierge made no mistake. They also didn't say to you you have two years or three years to change your oil the first time. You're adding that in

The concierge told you gm will provide the service free of charge for up to 3 years. That's it

Nowhere does it say you can wait three years to change the oil. The manual covers that.

There's a very obvious reason for this. You cannot break up the free oil change and the dct filter change. In order for the dealership to be reimbursed they have to do them both together. And the dct filter change has no time requirement. So you can indeed change your oil annually and indeed wait up to 24 or 36 months (whatever it is) to get your free oil and dct filter change. You have to read the words as these are binding documents.

Additionally, oil degrades far differently in the sealed bottle vs the engine.

Porsches, Jaguars, Mercedes, Citroen Maseratis, Audis, BMW's, Saab, Alfa, Fiat, Vespa, Betley all require annual changes.

https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2022...sit-extension/

As the article states, they changed it to 36 months in December, 2021 and then changed it back to 24 months in January, 2022.

I'm doing my 2nd paid oil change on Monday (4,200 miles) and I'll do my freebie sometime next year when I get close to 7,500 miles.

And it also makes clear that its the time period for the free service, and specifically says it does not change the recommended maintenance schedule - given some of what was said above in this thread, I think it is worth including the entire statement :

"CORVETTE INCLUDED MAINTENANCE 1ST SERVICE VISIT TIMING EXTENSION

Description: The Chevrolet Complete Care program is extending the Included Maintenance timing requirements for the owners of the Chevrolet Corvette (C8) to come in to dealerships for their 1st service visit. For owners of a 2020 and newer Corvette, the allowed timing for reimbursement is being increased from 12 months to 24 months. This new timing is to help satisfy customer concerns and is based on Dealer feedback.

Please Note: There are no changes to the Owner’s Manual Recommended Maintenance Schedule.

Effective Date: January 3, 2022 18:00 ET

Additional Information:

The Corvette Included Maintenance 1st Service Visit includes:

One (1) covered OIL CHANGE visit within 2 years of ownership which includes:
– Oil and filter change using Mobil1 oil and ACDelco oil filter
– Transmission fluid filter change (see GM Service Information document ID 5384826)
– Multipoint Vehicle Inspection

See Corvette Owner Manual for recommended maintenance schedule"
