C8 HTC Overheating
I reinstalled the reservoir, then went on test drive. Car started to get above 195degrees. I then decided hit the highway and did 3000rpms for 10minutes to try to push out bubbles and it did NOT work. I took car out again today hit the highway, and again did 3000Rpm's for 10mintues and did NOT work.
The car stays cool as I am performing the 3000 rpms for 10 minutues, it afterwards when it heats back up.
Any Thoughts Guys?
Overheating actually throws a message on the DIC telling you to pull over and turn of the car for 20 minutes (that is from someone whose C8 hit 266F (another's went to 278F).
I've had mine hit 214F while waiting to get gas ... no issues.
With regard to the air bubble: I had a Land Cruiser that needed to be "burped" after changing the coolant. It eventually "burps" after running that vehicle with the rad cap off (has to be "cold" started). I don't know if that would be the method for the C8. The air should work its way out eventually through the coolant overflow tank (my guess is the C8 has one).
