Ok. So I decided to put heads on my 2022 z51. Called one of the big CNC head companies and they said no exchange they had brand new CNC’ed castings on the shelf and could ship out the same day. GREAT! Ordered the heads , milled them, thin cosmetics, bolts gaskets ect….. full R&R of the heads. Not easy. Started up immediately. Ran for 5-10 seconds and shut down. Could not figure out why. Too much milling? Thin head gaskets bent valves? 55 lbs compression. Damn. Pulled the heads . No bent valves. Lifters pumped up? Nope. They sold me the wrong heads. In I believe 2022 GM went to a smaller diameter injector and the hole in the cylinder head is approx .040 smaller too. When I fired the car the combustion blew
past the injectors and melted the Teflon seals and the upper white seals to the point there was no more seals left. Gone! Injectors black soot. Trashed. So I call the place and tell them the story and ask what they could do to help me. We will return your money on the heads. That’s it. But I will have to pay the shipping. They will basic Cnc my heads but no shipping. I ask what about all the labor and meltdown parts. Gaskets, bolts now injectors, header gaskets and all the labor involved. Nope. Not their policy…. They admit they sold me the wrong heads though. Anyway. I could try new injector seals from GM. Nope. Back ordered. Well, I’ll just buy new injectors . Nope. Back ordered. Anyway. Does anybody out there know of maybe a set of takeout injectors from a 2022 or 2023 for sale? Maybe from a totaled car?
That sux. Were you copying someone else’s combo ? Why mill the heads ? You told them you milled the heads and they still stated they sold you the wrong ones ?
Really hope you figure this out asap.
Please let us know what vendor this is we the rest of us can avoid them. For the dollar damage done here, you need to press them harder as this is clearly their screw-up; the 2022 fueling changes should not surprise anyone familiar with C8 Corvettes so they should have been well aware of it, especially if they're the ones machining the heads!
give livernois motorsports a call . they did my heads on my 5th gen camaro. back in 2012 I had them mill the heads and they CNC ported them as well. cost was $1100

Interesting.....I just viewed their website and didn't see anything in reference to the C8 ported cylinder heads....only the Gen Series. They definitely dropped the ball on this one. There should be a full courtesy reimbursement.
lt2 and lt1 heads are the same. seems the later 22 up heads have different diameter HP injectors. I wonder is the 22 up LT1 heads have the same smaller injectors.
Well, After hunting down back ordered injectors and seals , l finally fired up my car. Seems much more crisp. Throttle response. How
much power? I don’t care. If it picks me up 2 or 3 mph and 2 or 3 tenths I will be happy. I’ve had pretty good luck with my 60’ times considering im
running stock street tires. I think drag radials are in the picture next. No check engine lights ! Thanks again Snowblind for all your help!
If it does pick up 3mph I would be happy as could be even with the headache. Yup it’s a learning experience and I wish you well. Do you have any draggy results you can compare ?
Im sorry this happened to you. But unfortunately that's how the after market goes.
May ask how did you swap the heads. Did you drop the engine or swap from the top. And if so, how did you handle the dry sup tank bolt that goes into the head. That's my only deterrent.
Thanks
