Default Rev Limiter

On a few occasions, I have paddle downshifted the trans and came to a stoplight that immediately turned green and punched it forgetting that it had not exited the manual mode. That caused me to hit the limiter before I realized it. Any chance of engine damage? I'm pretty sure not but figured I would ask here.

The rev limiter is there to protect from engine damages. You can bounce off it all day long. You're good

No, no damage for a brief encounter with red line.. But there are some interesting words in the manual related to that. In temporary manual mode, if the accelerator is pressed to the floor, it will upshift. And in manual mode (and probably temporary manual mode) if the engine is at max RPM for too long, it will upshift "to protect the engine". The clips below are in the section called Manual Mode.
