Well call this one a rookie mistake. I had an itch to get back in a Corvette and traded my 2022 Porsche Macan GTS for a Rapid Blue C8. The car had 1000 miles on it but was used and the owning dealer didn't have the window sticker. Well, it turns out it wasn't a Z51 and I thought it was. my bad. so 900 miles later I am trading it for a new 2023 Rapid Blue but in a convertible config and with all the Z51 goodies. Didn't take a very big hit on it so alls well that ends well. Anyone know how long it is taking to build an ordered unit these days?

If you didn't realize it wasn't a Z51, you probably don't need it. It's your money, but I'm just sayin'....

Nothing wrong with admitting to a mistake and owning it! Have fun and enjoy the new car! I'm assuming its a car not yet built, but the dealerships says they have an allocation available for one?

Congrats on your trade in and upgrade to the Z51 package! I would not purchase a C8 without it. Plenty of folks will enjoy telling you why they did not select that option and why it's not needed. Screw'em! less constraints for those that appreciate a superior automobile.

Around 2 months from order accepted to delivered to your dealer. That can vary by a few weeks depending upon parts availability, colors, and shipping.

 

I'd estimate 2-3 months then, most likely. I received my allocation in March 2021 and my car was built 7/1/21, just for an example.

I also have a recent order accepted by GM. From what I can tell, it's 2-3 months depending on what options you've chosen. Apparently some wheel options, as well as some Carbon Fiber options, tend to result in longer build/delivery dates.

Same to you. I was blocked from getting the high wing and they wouldn't let me do a color combination override. I wanted the red interior with the Rapid Blue and they said no. Too bad. My Porsche was a similar blue and it had the red interior and everyone loved it.

 

Made my deposit on 5 Dec. '22 and picked it up on 15 March '23

 

Made my deposit +/- 15 Nov 22 and still haven't received my allocation, but was told it should be this month.

Congrats on your new order and I think it's smart to get into the car you want. That beats having regrets down the road wishing you had something better that you could have afforded. The Z51 in my opinion is worth it if you're a spirited driver or plan on doing some track time.

 

I did MacMulkin for an exceptional transaction with R8C delivery. They seem to be running 9-10 months. Make it your own!

 

My 2023 C8 Z51 order started Sept 22 and i just got a TPW of May 1 2023.

 

Getting the htc z51 is a smart play. Good luck.
