Default c8 AC system replacement

Have a 2023 c8 with 2015 miles on it that experienced a failed AC compressor. Understanding that the entire system has to be replaced due to contamination. Anyone have some insight or experience on what this might entail? With the mid engine configuration, well, its got me very apprehensive.

I don't see why the whole system would need to be replaced. This would entail the compressor, dryer, lines through the tunnel, the evaporator in the dash, and condensers in the front bumper not to mention all the lines. If they do this your car will be in a thousand pieces. Also odds are most parts won't be available. Normally if a compressor fails they replace the compressor, dryer, vac out the system, charge it and call it a day.

That would be so much better, guessing the service writer was off a bit in his description. This car also suffered the No neutral thing and oil light on when the engine stopped.

Look what happened to mine. 2024 with 5,600 miles. Though I blew the DCT when it happened. Took it in on Feb. 19. Fixed on March 3.
