New exhaust smoke?

New exhaust smoke?
I just installed the Halltech Hornet and AWE track exhaust on an HTC. I am curious if there is any "burn off" of the metal for the exhaust. I notice some smoke coming out of the HTC hatch vent. Nothing too excessive, but there is visible smoke. There is also an abnormal smell after the installation.
Just curious if this is something normal after installing a new exhaust or if I need to investigate further before driving the vehicle. No CEL.
