I am curious for a picture. It is the type of failure you do not expect to happen on any new car short of jumping it or a wreck.

My friend and I designed and made vertical clips (1/8" flat steel) that hook over the strut tower outside and use the lower/outer 2 strut bolts to hold them. A 20 minute install on my C8 Z51 road racer. This will prevent the strut from tearing at the lower bolt area.

Can you post a few photos please and could you make this available for a price?
Thanks

A picture would certainly help in explaining the failure.

I'm getting ready to go to the Glen next week so when I return I'll try to take some pics on and off the car. Thanks for the interest, Joe

All C8 Corvettes have coil over shock assemblies as original equipment.

My mistake. I’ll try to be clearer. Was this a stock suspension or aftermarket coil overs, as in a performance or track orientated set up that might put additional loads into the chassis?

I have not seen a failure like that without an impact, like a curb, or pot hole. Was their wheel damage as well. It looks like the shock or spring would have to stack solid to do that.

That’s a definite shear. Something caused a massive impact load to do that.

Looks like an easy fix. Something will always fail first after a high impact, and glad to see that cheap hat fails before the chassis/frame mount!

If there was no large impact maybe a defective casting.

This is not the first such failure.
