Default Louvered Back Glass

I want to attempt at having some sort of serious discussion around creating a replacement for the back glass for my track car.

I want to decrease engine bay temps and I think I’m going to go try and design a back glass replacement to look something like the back hatch of the STO without the fin going down the middle.

what do you guys think? How could this not improve temps dramatically.

I think you're underestimating how much air moves out of the vents along the sides and under the rear glass. Unless hell bent on it for the look, I'd just start by removing the rear glass completely and taking a few drives to see if is actually doing anything for the temperatures. It would be interesting to see. I bet there is zero measurable impact on any temp you care to measure (coolant, oil, IAT).

the key is probably not to remove the glass, which

won't create a low-pressure zone, it will have to have some louvers to create low-pressure areas to pull the engine compartment heat.

Yeah, ok. the Corvette has that basically then. The 'mail slot' along the bottom edge and all the venting along each side.

how could the difference be zero.

im talking about 30 minute sessions track sessions.

I can’t imagine how it wouldn’t help in any way.
