Default DSC Standalone Kit?

Anyone do the stand alone kit on a C8? Right now, you can do it with OEM MSRC shocks. DSC has after market magnetic shocks coming too!

I did contact DSC and they said the stand alone kit would work with non MRC C8 cars and OEM MSRC shocks. They plan to have their own high performance magnetic shocks later this year. So, sounds like we got different answers.

C5racer - I exchanged a bunch of emails with Tom Chan. Standalone kit will work with any car, you just need to be able to magnetic dampers that are compatible with the car. For us, right now those would be the OEM MSRC shocks.

Bringing this thread back up again. Am I reading this correctly, I could get Z06 mag ride shocks and hook them up to this controller on my Non-Z06 car?? Anyone done this?

As a follow on. Am I correct in thinking the MRC shocks are the same for FE2, FE4, FE6 and FE7, front lift aside. It seems that way in looking at part numbers.

That is what the DSC folks told me. You would need their standalone controller kit with single velocity sensor and then OEM mag ride shocks. I think the shocks are the same for the Stingray (both Z51 and on Z51) and Z06. The springs and factory programming differ for Stingray with MSRC, Stingray with Z51 + MRSC, Z06, and Z06 with Z07 package. I haven't done this yet as stilling waiting for my twin turbos to be done, almost there!

Based on your thought that the factory programming is different for the different suspension options (which makes sense), did DSC folks give you any indication where their programming would put the shocks? I also find it interesting the MRC shocks are the same for all the models.

@Red Mist Rulz By work with non-MRC cars, I meant with cars not equipped with MRC from the factory. You would need to purchase/install the MRC shocks in addition to the stand-alone controller and sensor package. For cars with factory MSRC, they have a replacement controller in development that works with the factory sensors and controls.
