Default Cabin Air Filter

Was surprised how dirty the cabin air filter is after just 8000 miles. Very easy to replace.

You do know that a filter’s efficiency actually increases with age because the trapped debris increases the filter’s ability to trap smaller debris. But, it’s good that you changed it.

Isn't the darkness just charcoal in the filter? What does the other side look like?

Here's a picture of the reverse side. The replacement filter was almost pure white.

The service manual says replace at least every 2 years.

I replace mine annually in all our vehicles and it's disgusting how much crap they catch in that time.

Depending on where one lives, this year the cabin filter may have had a lot more particulates to deal with than normal, because of all the forest fires.
