Default When to do service

Hey everyone, my C8 is at 6,267 miles and my oil life is 16% and my transmission filter is at 19%. However, I have not received any notification to replace the transmission filter, only the oil filter. I have read that sometimes getting the covered oil change disqualifies from getting the transmission filter change covered. As well as people getting notified to change the transmission filter around 7k miles even though they have already replaced it. Should I just get the service done or wait? Thanks!

Transmission filter needs to be within certain mileage for them to cover and being within 2 years of in service date. Should be done at 7500 mile +/- 500 I believe (dont quote me on that range). You could try to put a bit more mileage on for the oil change if that 16% is mileage based and not based on 1 year time from last oil change. I have paid for a couple oil changes out of pocket (I track the car a lot so change oil frequently) and will get the trasmission filter and an oil change for free on them when I get to mileage.

The 16% is purely mileage based, I got the car in Mid-October 2023 (0 miles) and daily it. I just wonder what at what percentage will it be too low for the oil life. However, I am not opposed to trying to get to 7-7100 miles by driving the car lightly.

Best to get the oil & oil filter changed and the transmission filter - all at 7000 miles or higher (7500 would be ideal). Use your one free service and it keeps you within required services warranty-wise (7500 miles for all) as time is not an issue for you.

Sounds good, I guess I will be babying it for the next 8-900 miles. Thank you!

Why baby it for the next 800-900 miles? Drive it like you normally would.

By baby it, I meant not pushing the car hard. As of recently when I do, I can smell burning coming from the engine when stopped at a light, and usually after I park the car.

If that is something new, then might want to have it looked at assuming the way you drive the car has not changed.
