I am trying to install a Brey Krause Harness Bar in a 2024 Z06 Coupe 2LZ. I have removed the body adhesive per the instructions, but I would need to cut into the body panels to get the bar to sit flush as designed.
Pictures are hard to see, but the inside of each end would need to be ground (into body panel) significantly in order for the bar to sit flush.
You can hopefully see in the attached picture what I am talking about.
For those that have installed this bar, did you run into the same issues?
Update - I spoke with engineers at Brey Krause. Bar appears to be built to print (as designed). They did not question the interference, but not much they could do. Vendor I purchased from agreed to take back. Both companies were good to work with.
In the end, I decided to trim the body panels to make the fit work. On to the next challenge!
Any pics of what you guys had to trim? For $1,000 harness bar it should fit. And the fact that the instructions tell you to use factory torque without providing it annoys me. Oh and they should include the edge finisher for the cut panels.
I had to grind on my C7 bar quite a bit. My C5 stuff was perfect. But they’re the only bar MFG who tests their stuff and their bar is reinforced internally vs. other brands.

agree it should fit, but I had to trim composite panel that runs side to side (back wall). A little tip, have a shop vac running same time you are using dremel tool to trim, or you will have a large mess! As far as edging, you are better off separating the fabric from plastic panel, cut the plastic to size, but leave fabric larger to you can wrap it around cut edge. Watch the Paragon video for technique (cutout is different though). PM me and I can explain more if desired.
I looked at the Brey Krause unit. I ended up going with the one from Competition Motorsport. You only trim the side panels, not the waterfall. Went in with no problems....other than the Dremel mess you mentioned.
Do either of you guys have pics of the BK bar installed? Looks like it would be impossible to install a seat back brace due to how tight it is to the back wall trim. Also, is their big stupid logo really contrasting silver?

CMS looks nice, but the mount bracket puts all the stress on a think plate of steel if you're in a real crash. The BK bracket fully surrounds the bar end.

Only using it until someone makes a decent roll bar.

There's just no room if you're on the high end of average height. Studio RSR's is the nicest looking one so far, but the seat has to be 4-6" more forward than where I drive.

Yeah, I'm just about 6'3" and that just won't work. Add to that, they're in California and I'm in Florida. Called a couiple of shops around here and they didn't want anything to do with cutting up a C8.
6'4" here too... barely fit w/ helmet. Have to put thin rubber tape on back of it where it sometimes bumps targa frame. I think the best compromise is BK bar, good FIA seat w/ seat back brace attached to BK bar and good harnesses. Other than that, need a different car to do a more dedicated track build at our height.

Yep. I should have left the C8 stock and found a prepped C5. Would have been a lot cheaper.

I've had all of them up to a full ST2 C5 racecar that I built. The C8 is nice because it really needs no mods to be tracked and has a warranty for 5 years 60K miles.
