Default Market Survey / Track Conversion

Morning,

I'm interested in some feedback from this group about track cars. Anyone who has tried to find a proper cage for a c8 knows, there really aren't any good options out there. (there's a big difference between looking safe and being safe, esp. when it comes to securing to the composite floor and harness / seat integration for example). Do you think there would be a market for a track conversion? At a minumum:
-Proper rollcage / seat / harness system (driver and pass)
-Fire bottle
-Airbag disable

This would obviously set the foundation for further mod's, lightweighting, fuel cell, etc. Note these would be permanent modifications and would render the car not suitable for the street any longer.

Think club events, track days etc. or perhaps for spec series in future.

Any feedback is welcome.

Such modifications very substantially increase the amount of investment, since the car's value also takes a huge hit, and could be considered a total loss in terms of value, which makes it much harder to justify with a new and very expensive car. I can see myself doing something like that on a $30K brand new Miata, but C8 would push it a bit too much for me personally. I'm sure there would be those with bigger financial resources who could do that, but not sure if you'd have enough of them to create a product line for it.

I wish GM had a hardcore Corvette model with cage, stiff suspension, etc.. That way, we could have it all without losing the car's value, and I could easily see myself justifying paying a much higher MSRP than my current car's for it..

I looked and gave up. Settled for just a harness bar so could use a six point harness.

Wish someone would make good one reasonably priced. And be close to Florida.

if I remember correctly there is a place in Texas that can do a cage / roll bar.
