New headers make car run rough and check engine light
Well the title says it all. Had headers installed on my 2023 c8. No other exhaust mods. Drove the car home and it was running rough and the esc light came on and then today I had the check engine light come on. Blinking at first and then solid. Do I need a tune for headers??
You likely have a spark plug wire that came loose. It can take effort to get them to click onto the spark plug.
Look down in there with a flashlight and I bet you find 1 of the 8 dangling. Shouldn't be hard to see, then reach down and reattach it once the engine cools.

Well, what was the code? That might give you a clue. Spark plug wire is one potential issue. Were the oxygen sensors disturbed? I think the code might help pinpoint the issue.

I installed my headers, alone and my first time on the C8 (hobby guy), and never had a single issue. I ensured all plug wires were reconnected properly after installing the headers and that the wires were not touching them. Don’t know much about the installer but this job is not difficult. Definitely curious to know what happened here. Keep us posted

I always wondered about things like this. Look at air intakes. Eventuri makes the most power. But for $2k less, I can get an afe intake made with plastic that makes less power but more than stock.
I'm seriously wondering if someone like Paragon would be interested in adding this to a header shoot out.
