Default Z06 launch

Just got back from track weekend and got a few laps from a GM performance engineer in his Z06. I have never, in 19 years of tracking and accelerating right smartly in various vehicles, experienced such a launch. Although he was not in actual launch mode, it was full throttle with everything turned off in a/h at pit out. There are no words to express that experience except to describe it as akin to a RATO! It took a half lap for me to get my senses back. I have had fun in my C7ZR1 but the 8Z06 is absolutely unbelievable.

Oh yeah, completely stock. He looked over at me and said,"Can you believe it is completely stock!?"

Can't believe how you felt given that you have been tracking for quite a while, and considering your experiences with a C7 ZR1. Mighty impressive, and seems unbelievable with your excellent description. Got my 2024 Z06 late December so only now getting going here in the Northeast. Traded in my C7 Z06, a car I loved, and which had a few upgrades to bring it up to
about 710 hp. You had a ride that I would love to experience.

I will never turn off everything and run the course in the manner he did but he is an SCCA national champ 6 times over from what I understand. He had full power and no nannies (as far as possible to turn off). Yes, it was that impressive. There were a couple of times with some very busy and fast CS/correction. I turn off everything in my C5Z but that is a different story. I once turned off everything in my C7ZR1 (everything!) Never again. Track, Sport2 is fun and fast. I may go Track - Race, but will never hold the button down for a few seconds again.
