I believe that is the sensor for auto leveling headlights. I know on cars equipped with front end lift have auto leveling headlights and also cars exported to Europe where it is required by regulations. It may now be on all C8s. It could be that the car uses the information from the MSRC controller to refine the sensor information or perhaps it actually uses the sensor information to refine the MSRC response.
