Default z mode question

I will set z mode to sport settings except for engine shift will be set to track and sound to track as well. Once I engage z mode can I then also select the "manual" push button so I can use the paddles instead of the "drive" button, or will one negate the other?

Selecting manual on the trans has no effect on the drive mode. What I prefer more than selecting "M" down on the console is to just start flicking paddles and you will then be in manual mode. difference is it will quickly revert to auto if you don't shift for a bit. I actually prefer it that way because I'm famous for forgetting I'm in "M" and next thing I know I'm at 5500rpm in ist gear and old ladies are glaring at me.

No. Setting engine/shift to track..."adjusts the throttle response, gear shifting and engine performance. An increased throttle response enhances the acceleration feel as you move toward Track, but with a comfort trade-off due to more aggressive gear shifting." In manual shift mode, you will be selecting the gears, but you will still have the increased throttle response and engine performance (whatever that means). Also I think the shifts themselves, even though initiated manually, are a bit snappier (less smooth) with engine shift set to track.

Newby question. What's the difference between Z mode and My mode. It looks to me I can set each up the same but then I'm new at this so asking for guidance. Be gentle please.

My mode does not allow you set the engine/shift setting - that is defaulted to Tour. Z mode allow setting of all the subsystems, and also allow setting PTM modes if you have magride.

Also, Mymode will survive through an ignition cycle. But in Z mode, when shut the car off and restart, it will start in Tour Mode.

And, of course Z mode is accessible via the steering wheel button. My mode is selected with the ****.

Is Zmode unique to each of the drivers (1 & 2 Memory)?

Drove my 2020 C8 for 4 years and now my E-Ray for 6 months with Z-Mode engine/shift to Track, Brakes and NPP as well. Steering and Ride to Sport. Only use one other mode, MY MODE set to Sport with Brakes and NPP set to Track.

I use paddles in Z-Mode often in our rural area. If as it most common driving at 55 mph in 5th, If I'm behind traffic and want to drive in say 7th gear use the Upshift paddle. No problem in will stay in 7th unless I hit the brakes. I usually don't have to downshift coming to a corner. Just apply the brakes aggressively and it downshifts 1 or 2 gears, rev matching each.

If in My Mode and say 7th gear and come to a corner I will use paddles to downshift 1or 2 gears. The only issue it's than it's automatically in Manual Mode for several seconds and will NOT Upshift by itself. Can go to say 4000 rpm unless I pull the Upshift paddle. But if I do, it's again in Manual Mode for 2 or 3+ seconds. After ~5 seconds it returns to Manual Mode all by itself.
