Hi, new to the corvette and this forum.i have a 2014 C8 and want to upgrade the exhaust. I’m considering both the MBRP armor pro and the AWE touring exhaust systems.
Does anyone have experience with either? Any opinion welcome.
i was in Carlisle yesterday and heard the AWE , pretty sweet, couldn’t listen to the MBRP.
thanks
If you don't have the factory performance exhaust, you have more options (especially without dealing with simulators). I have heard most of them all, but NONE of them made me want to replace my factory exhaust....at least not at the current asking prices with Corvette tax included.
I replaced my tips and people don't believe me when I tell them its stock. It was a cheap alternative until the market calms down. Took me about 90-minutes. I considered the exhaust from 2M Fabrication, but the lack of customer service made me back away from the table. That is probably the only one I would buy as it is under $1000. I'm just not the person to spend excessive amounts of money on an exhaust.
One thing to remember is the car is much louder than you think from the driver's seat. It may never be loud enough due to the solid sound deadening materials used.
Thank you so much for your commentary. Can I ask what tips you installed
and did it give your car a louder sounding exhaust?
I purchased my tips from one of those Chinese apps (Temu or Ali Express) where 75% of the crap we use originates.
Mine are clamp on style tips and cost me $97 for all 4. Th size is 2.75in x 4in. They have a carbon fiber shell with stainless steel pipe. I've had them on for about 800 miles and they aren't showing any signs of discoloration. If they do, I am fine with getting another set at that price.
This video can be used as a guide if you go down the road. The guy in the video sells tips as well for $280 if you'd prefer to avoid the direct slow boat from China route. I'm just cheap I guess.
Most people tell me the car is louder. I can't tell, I just didn't like the square tips. My new tips do not have the resonators like the factory square tips.
Again, if you don't have the NPP valves to worry about, you can avoid the expensive valved options on the market. Then again, most people swear by Borla and Corsa systems.
Choose wisely. There may be some Labor Day sales around the corner as well.

I just went with AWE track, it was mean, but the drone sucked, I just moved to AWE Touring. If you can get a touring kit installed, you'll love it! Enjoy!
I love the AWE Track. I don't consider there to be any drone, just a nice, solid exhaust note when cruising. On startup or acceleration--sounds like power! If too loud, and it may well be for some on startup, the Tour would be a great compromise. Not cheap, but at the lower end of the price range and very solid quality. Had the Track on my M4 Competition which I loved, so no brainer to add to the SR. Crackles and pops on decel in lower gears, and great bang on upshifts.
So I spoke with my dealer and they informed me that GM will only back the Borla Atak as it doesn't void any warranty. Its a nice system but I'll have to investigate a nit more. I'll have to listen to that system on line. (Not the best way to hear an exhaust but that's all I have to go on.
Thanks, so much for the input !
Cool video, but now sound clip after you installed them. That is what I was looking for...

I don't think I understand what this means? They will only back it? What does that mean? No cat back exhaust will void a warranty on any vehicle, any clarification here?
