After Market Remote Starters for C8
Anyone worked with an aftermarket remote starter with a C8?
I am thinking of getting one and having it installed. I have my eyes on something newer, mobokey. it has a phone app.
Looks kinda promising.
open to suggestions.

Your C8 already has a phone app (myChevrolet) capable of remote starting, locking/unlocking doors, etc. Your key fobs also have a remote start button.
Pro tip: hold down the unlock button to put the windows down

It’s literally right on the main screen of the app in the center of the screen. Either you don’t have your car connected to your Chevrolet account your using to log in to the app, or your remote access plan has expired (2020-2024 come with 3 years of remote access plan).

Your car comes with a free OnStar trial plan, just press the blue OnStar button to get it activated. If you've already used up the free trial, you will need at least the $14.99/mo OnStar Remote Access plan:

I personally have the $24.99/mo Connected Vehicle plan since it allows access to all the functionality I care about, plus includes an unlimited data WiFi hotspot (which my radar detector runs off of).

I just bought it a couple of months ago. I will ask the previous owner to share the details on the Onstar plan. If its a monthly thing i don't think I would get it. I am going to have an after market one instead.

Press the blue OnStar button, they'll typically give 2nd owners a free trial as well, give it a shot, get it all setup, and see what you think. I would be VERY nervous about wiring in aftermarket systems with how complex/sensitive the C8's electronics are.

This, you need have an Onstar account in your name with the car tied to it, you can’t use the previous owners info. I would strongly advise against an aftermarket remote start as it’s likely to screw something up.

You don't need an OnStar plan if you just want to use the fob to remote start the car but you need to be in range of the fob. There are instructions in the owner's manual which can be downloaded online if one didn't come with the car.
