That means the resistance is wrong. Or the simulators once they get hot lose some resistance putting them out of range. You can try getting better sims/ resistors, or find a place to mount them where they will see airflow to cool off.

Can also use the OBD version from X-ineering or even double up sims with OBD to not have issues on track

They get hot on their own since they are resisting current. Ambient enginebay temps obviously contribute. Heat wrapping them may just insulate them and make the issue occur more quickly. You should find a way to move air over them.
