I'm wondering if anyone has thermal coated their Borla exhaust. Jet coat, cerakote... Anything other than wrapping or using blankets. I'm looking to work on a heat management strategy this winter where I'm looking to keep the trunk and air intake insulated from heat better. And if possible, keep the engine bay cooler.
The catback exhaust system is entirely outside of the engine bay so if that is your main intent, look more towards thermal management of the headers & cats.
Back to your initial question though, the Borla has very good heatshielding as it is, but ceramic coating it would only help. I personally have Cerakote Titanium ceramic coating on my headers & cats, but did use DEI Titanium exhaust wrap on the inlets to the Borla to better protect my intake.
If you do go the ceramic coating route, I'd recomend an air-cure such as the Cerakote Glacier Titanium C-7900 (which is what I have on my Corsa cats):
