The 2020 Ford GT500 has a Tremec TR-9070 DCT 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. I suspect it is just a 7 speed version of the Corvette? The fluid change interval is shown as 40,000 miles. Any reason why there would be a difference between the two?
The 9070 is a transmission and the 9080 is a transaxle which has a differential. They were both designed by the same Tremec team but are different designs. Josh Holder has stated the fluid needs to be replaced every 3 years because the anti-foaming agents break down. Could be related to the differential in the 9080 or it could just be different approaches between GM and Ford engineers.

As a former owner of a GT500 you are comparing apples and oranges. I’m scratching my head on the front engine rear drive 7spd vs a mid engine/transmission/rear drive 8spd comparison because both transmissions are made by Tremec.
If your trans fails at 30k and you have never changed the fluid take Ford’s bulletin and show GM Ford says 40k on the fluid change and report back how that works out.
I only asked a question. I understand that the C8 is a transaxle where the Ford is a transmission alone, however the only difference is added gears in the differential. The clutches and the gearing is the same. I see one explanation. The wear happens in the clutches. The differential limited slip done electronically.
One of the car mags, Road and Track I think, did a story about the 8 speed Tremec. In it, they mentioned the 7 speed DCT in the Mustang and said the two units have virtually nothing in common.
As for gears, that's actually big difference. The loading on the right angle bevel drive differential gears is, I think, much greater than on the transmission gears. That may account for the faster wear in the C8's unit. If the clutch material is the same (which none of us know), then clutch wear wouldn't account for the difference in maintenancce.
Just to add to the confusion, Maserati uses the exact same transmission in their MC20 model. They call for fluid change every 4 years or 37280 miles (60000km). So a longer time interval, but shorter mileage. But they also call for the external filter change every 9320 miles (15000 km), even after the first service, rather than 7500, 22500, then every 22,500. Go figure.
Thanks, just what I was looking for. Regarding the MC20, as you indicated, the filter must be changed every 9320 miles but also at least once a year? Is that what you read as well?

That's a good question. It seems to imply that. That's the schedule for their service coupons (which I think are included in the price of the car). Nowhere can I find anything that says a 1 year change is mandatory, but if you're not paying (extra) for it, I would expect owners will get it done.
