C8 Corvette Front Trunk Issue: Anyone Experienced This?
Hey C8 owners,
I’ve been hearing about issues with the front trunk occasionally popping open while driving. It seems to happen under certain conditions, like sharp turns or hitting bumps, even when the latch appears secure. Have any of you experienced this, and if so, how did you resolve it? Please share tips for keeping our C8s safe and roadworthy!

The frunk's latch popped (but still held the frunk lid down) on the trip back from Florida to Ohio this past spring. I was traveling around 70 mph on the interstate when much to my surprise my 2021 C8 HTC abruptly dropped speed to 30 mph. Thank goodness I was in the right-hand lane and the interstate wasn't busy at the time or I would have surely been rear-ended.
I had my Novistretch Bra on and it can interfere with the frunk's latch if you don't pull it down and away from the latch when you put it on. I pulled over to the berm, adjusted the bra, relatched the frunk, and drove the rest of the way home without any issues. This is the only time in 3 years and 13,000 miles of ownership that I've had the frunk's latch pop and I attribute the cause to a maladjusted Novistretch Bra.

I haven't had mine pop open but there are adjustment pads on the left and right side. Mine were loose causing the frunk to make a popping noise on bumps. I lowered the pads a bit to snug up the frunk and that solved that. It might help on your issue as well.
On a side note I had the tub for the Frunk out looking for a rattle and had the electrical connection disconnected. Found out the car will not go into drive that way when I tried to drive without the tub in seeing if I fixed the rattle.
