Default Max RPM

Guys and Girls.
The computer stores a lot of information. Does it store the maximum RPM ever recorded on an LT2 engine? I'd like to pull it up on a 2023 C8 before I buy it.
Thanks.

IMHO, just seeing the highest RPM the engine has ever seen won't provide much info.

Because I wouldn't be afraid of buying a car just because it has hit redline sometime in its life. Even the most babied Corvette probably has been floored at least once. Since it is a DCT, a money shift won't occur.

What I would want to know is how it was treated when pushed to redline. Was it during break in? Was the engine cold when the previous owner decided to floor it? That kind of information tells me it saw abuse by the previous owner(s) than just having the computer say, yes this engine saw 6600 RPM.

Is there any way of obtaining that kind of information?

Probably not. There is a finite amount of storage which limits how much data it can hold. Max RPM is maybe something that is permanently stored until replaced by a higher value, but how it was treated during break in is probably overwritten by now. Unless flooring it during cold occurred recently, that is probably gone too.

It's easy to forget you're in manual mode until you hit the rev limiter. This usually causes one of those "Oh ****!" moments.

Sorry…No !!…now if there were a DTC stored when the car hit the rev limiter a scan tool can access that information in “Freeze Frame Data”.

Not just forget, I did it several times the 1st month I dove only in Manual Mode. I make a right angle turn from a Stop Sign at the end of the rural road I live on, to merge into often heavy traffic on a 4 lane divided highway. The upshift paddle is out of position to pull when 1st gear hits the Rev Limiter. That occurs at ~34 mph in the blink of an eye. No fun all fuel shutting off while you fumble for the paddles at 34 mph with traffic coming up at ~70 mph! Found Z-Mode Power set to Track where at WOT at ~34 mph it's smart enough to shift by itself at 6500 rpm. did that many times in the 4 years I had my 2020 C8 Z51. It does that frequently in my E-Ray.

SIDEBAR
IMO worse thing for a high performance engine is to drive it like a little old lady school teacher. Yep driving in Touring in V4 with engine rpm only ~1000 rpm is harder on bearing, not enough to get max hydrodynamic lubrication! Recall when I sold my 2008 C6 on AutoTrader (where I have sold most of my prior 6 Vettes.) Engineer from TX called to see what price he could get. It was soon after I put the car up for sale and I held firm. Like most I have sold it had only about ~10,000 miles. He was from TX and said I can buy a C6 for less with inly 3000 miles. Recall saying would not buy a "garage queen" that had only short drives, but your choice. He flew to SC to pick it up mostly because he liked the Color!

Had Rocker Panel dings in my otherwise perfect 1988 and 1993 Vettes. Added contoured Splash Guards panted the the car's Velocity Yellow. My latter 2014 C7 Z51, 2017 Grand Sport and 2020 C8 Z51 added full length Side Skirts to stop rocks.

Worse thing for an engine is starting. ~35 psi oil pressure does nothing to keep crack and rod bearings apart from the crank. It's just an indicator there is oil available at the junction! And it takes a few seconds to get to ~35 psi after a start. BUT the key to long life is the hydrodynamic oil pressure that builds with rpm.
BTW 6600 rpm is not like a 10,500 rpm in a 500 cid NHRA ProStock or 15,000 rpm F1 Race Car engine! Both limited by rules. ProStock engines were hitting ~13,000 rpm. Recall hearing a 1 year old Michael Schumacher F1 car at Laguna Seca driven by a Ferrari test driver when max rpm was ~20,000 rpm.

Yep that oil pressure in the film that develops can be ~3000 psi!
