Lowering Collars
So anyone ever had a issue with any of the other brands?
I ordered all paragon, Springs, Collars, and spanner wrench. well Springs and Collars on back order. and reading Eiback ride better. So...
Ebacks springs on order now. (They also include new bump stops, paragons dont). 10% firmer ride vs 30% paragon.
Lingenfelter Collars on order as I want to use the spacer (0.5"). There is a few other brands out there too, pics show them with spacers, but called and they say they dont include?.... just was curious if anyone else has used the off brand. I was fine with paragon but waiting over a month for a machined piece of metal... so swapped. I do wish Lingenfelter was not blue haha.

Word on the street is if you install collars on a car WITH front end lift and have an issue they won't help you. Apparently the collars are causing issues with the lift somehow. My paragon collars are still sitting in my toolbox drawer for that reason.

Yea I have read that. But got the car with front lift for the sole reason to lower it and have that function. Guess I am installing Blue ones as paragons black ones where on back order.

It's my belief (without any evidence except posts I've read) that most of the problems with Paragon lowering collars comes from damage to the front lift system at the time of installation. There are some tricks to doing a proper installation. My collars were installed by my Chevy dealer about 3 years ago and resulted in a front lift failure. Luckily for me, this was before GM started denying warranty work for systems with collars. The dealer fixed the problem by replacing a strut (that I think they damaged during the install) under warranty. Unfortunately, if that happened today the repair would be on my dime - buyer beware. Still, I would do it again.

I’ve had the collars on mine for over a year with no issues with the front lift. There are several YT videos detailing the install. You’ve got to keep the shock alignment with the spring exactly where it was when you reassemble and use 4 new crush washers on the two hydraulic lines.
