MAC or PC for PDR / Catalyst
Time to get a new computer I can travel with. Always had PC, but considering a MAC?

The Cosworth GM Toolbox is designed specifically for Windows operating systems (typically Windows 7, 8, and 10, as noted by Cosworth), and there is no native version available for macOS. Cosworth has not released an official Mac-compatible version of the software, and their support documentation does not indicate plans to do so.
However, you can still use the Cosworth GM Toolbox on a Mac by employing one of these workarounds:
- Virtual Machine (VM): Install a virtual machine software like Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, or VirtualBox on your Mac. Then, set up a Windows environment within the VM and install the Cosworth GM Toolbox there. This allows you to run Windows applications seamlessly alongside macOS.
- Boot Camp: Use Apple’s Boot Camp utility (pre-installed on Intel-based Macs) to install Windows on a separate partition of your hard drive. You’ll need a valid Windows license, and this method requires restarting your Mac to switch between macOS and Windows. Once Windows is running, you can install and use the Toolbox as intended. Note that Boot Camp is not available on newer Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, etc.).
- Windows Emulator: Software like Wine can sometimes run Windows applications on macOS without a full Windows installation, but compatibility with the Cosworth GM Toolbox is not guaranteed and may require technical tweaking.
