So I'm putting some take off wheels on my C8. Don't know the model year it came off of.

I'm tightening down the back wheel and it was going on weird, so I stopped. Now it's stuck on and I can't get it off.

The lugs are not cross threaded, I started them by hand.

 

So I got it off. Put my old wheel on no problem.

Tried it again and it will not push on all the way. Tried the other new wheel and it went on fine.

I can't see anything wrong with the difficult one.

 

I guess they were just machined a few thousandths undersize. I took the caps out and could see the hub actually cutting little slivers out of the wheel as I tried to push it on. They're on now.

 

Tapeworks has noticed that there are slight variations in the ‘20-‘22 wheels from the ‘23-up wheels when ordering their rim stripes to cover the machined edges on the OEM CF wheels. MAYBE there are other slight variations as well. I run a set of CF wheels off of a ‘21 on my ‘24 with no issues however…
