Default C8 PDR Track Files (gpx)

I got my C8 Z06 8/9/2024 and had it on the track as soon as I hit 1500 miles. I was frustrated that I after I learned a track I would lose that track when I learned the next track on the PDR. At the beginning of this season I found out that you can save tracks by removing the SD Card and using a PC to rename a file. I also found some “.gpx” files on this forum and other sites that have been posted for many tracks. I am just starting to get what I think is some idea about the GPX files that are in the root directory of the SD card.. I have found a few GPX files for tracks online and used a Watkins Glen file and it was great when I went there this week I just selected the track from the learn screen. My braindead view is that the PDR creates a single "custom.gpx" file in the root directory of the SD card when a track is learned. That file is used every time you learn a track. Unless you put the SD card in a 'PC' and rename the file you will lose the track last track learned when you "learn" a new track. In the learn track screen if you rename the file on the SD card to (in my previous track case) palmer.gpx you can select that track the next time you are there. After copying downloaded files to the SD card and renaming the custom.gpx file after I learned a track I now see on the learn screen on the PDR the track files I downloaded from the internet, copied to the root directory of the SD card and the one's that I created for Palmer. I verified that the Watkins Glen file works but I have not verified the Lime Rock or Thunderbolt at NJMP.. If anyone has a source for GPX files please post. Also please correct me if my understanding about the files is incorrect.

I have added zip files of the .GPX files that I have so far. I created the Palmer (Palmer Counter Clock Wise) and Remlap (Palmer Clock Wise aka Palmer backwards). The others I found posted. I was just at Watkins Glen and that GPX worked fine. For the Palmer (Palmer Motorsports) I tried using the Palmer (CCW) going Remlap (CW) and it did not work so that lets me know that they are direction specific. At Watkins Glen I confirmed that when you select a track on the LEARN Screen it will remain selected until you select a different one - to say in another way when you select the track it will remain the selected track for all PDR sessions and there no need to select the track every session. When you go to a new track you will need to learn that track or if you have a gpx file with that track you can select that from the learn screen, I have only used the circuit and do not know how the autocross learn works and if autocross learn uses the same "custom.gpx" file. I am sure some folks will think "How stupid is this guy this stuff is obvious to the most casual observer" but I am trying to help the user new to the C8 PDR understand the basics. Please feel free to add any tips.

I'd love to see a sticky made and folks post up their files. I suspect not many of us track coast to coast, but certainly on a regional basis there's plenty of folks who can benefit. I find having to hit the button on the screen as I'm flying past the Start / Finish line at over 100+ MPH going into a corner being a bad idea... but I've had to do it to create the files I do have.

Default PDR changes for 2026 model year.

I was at Corvettes at Carlisle and attended a seminar on changes for 2026 model year. The PDR will now have in car review capabilities but we will not be able to use the current GPX files. The way it was explained to me by the GM engineer is the PDR files will be car specific. Here comes a new learning curve.

I just got my 2026 Z06 a couple week ago ... and was out here on the forum searching for GPX files. So we can't share files with the 2026 upgraded PDR?

That is what I was told. I would be curious if you copy a gpx file to the root directory if it shows up as a selection on the learn screen in your 26. When I was at Carlisle and I asked the engineer about using the current GPX files initially told me yes but he called one of the developers and they told him that the copied GPX files would not work because the new files are car specific. I am waiting for a friend to get his 26 so I can see how files are stored on the sd card.
