Default 1st Service visit

I have a 2023 and will be at 2 years since delivery at the end of August. At or near the end of the first year I did the first oil change myself. I have less that 4,000 miles on the car. I could really use some help in clarifying what I need to do and what the deal will do.
I did some research many months ago on this forum and elsewhere and of course now I can't remember where or how I got some of the information I have.

First, I have a document titled "Corvette Included Maintenance 1st Service Visit Timing Extension". Basically, this document says for 2020 and newer Corvettes the 1st visit is covered and includes:
Oil and Filter change
Transmission fluid filter change

I have another letter I got from Chevrolet that says - "This is a reminder that the transmission oil filter in your vehicle must be replaced between 7,000-8,000 miles...."

Neither of these documents make mention of the "Hydraulic System Flush Procedure"!!!!

From my prior research I believe the Hydraulic System Flush Procedure is required at 7,500 miles or 2 years for my 2023 to maintain the factory warranty. So, I need this procedure performed by the end of August.

My first question is, does the above "transmission fluid filter change", include the Hydraulic System Flush Procedure?

Is there any official Chevrolet documentation that state the Hydraulic System Flush is a required part of this 1st Service?

Thanks,
Don

The Hydraulic System Flush is step 1 of the official procedure to change the DCT external canister filter. It is documented in the Service Manual procedure.*

Also, on 2023, you can claim the free service prior to the 24 months regardless of mileage. Meaning the dealer should do the oil change and the DCT filter change even if you only have 4000 miles. I claimed mine at 2500 mile - the dealer did both. But you must still have the filter changed again between 7000-8000 miles at your expense later.

There was a change to the terms of the free service, but that change only applies to 2024 and later models. They have 3 years to claim the DCT filter change, but they must have 7000 miles or more to claim it. Some dealers have been confused and mistakenly think this applies to earlier models. It does not.

* There is no expectation that every step in a procedure will be "called out" in the Owner's Manual or the description of the free service. The DCT Filter Change Procedure has dozens of other steps, among them are Hydraulic System Leak Test, and Transmission Fluid Level and Condition Check, as well as all the steps related relating to removing and replacing the filter. You expect (I do at least) the dealer tech to follow the procedure. The Hydraulic System Flush " executes a procedure to actuate solenoids in a specific manner to flush debris from the system." It is initiated from a scan tool, with the engine running, and takes about 8-10 minutes to complete. It is performed before the filter is changed under normal conditions.

Thanks Andybump.

Is there a way to get a copy of the Service Manual with the specifics you reference? The only reason I ask is I would like to have copies of official Chevrolet documentation in my back pocket.

I purchased my car from a small dealer in Northern Virginia and would like to go back to that dealership for my service. I had a very good buying experience with them, much better than any other new car purchase I have had.

However, I would like to make sure they have service reps and corvette technicians that know what they are doing.

Thanks again,

Don

The version the techs use is on-line and updated regularly for all model years. That is, even for 2020, it will include updated procedures. I think they are available in various forms from Helm inc. and from AllData. And I think from gm here. I have not used this link but it was listed on this forum by another member.

https://www.acdelcotds.com/subscriptions#

There are ebay versions available at very low cost, but I believe they are not up to date. The version I saw appeared to be from 2020 and does not even have the Hydraulic System Flush in it.

I have a attached a page from a version someone posted here that has a date 0f 2023 at the bottom of the page.

A caution. Service writers are not necessarily familiar with all the steps in a procedure. And the term "flush" by itself, has multiple ambiguous meanings, one of which is a "drain and fill", another is that "BGE reverse fluid flush" that many dealers try to sell (and this "service" makes no sense for the C8 DCT). So if you ask the service writer about a "flush", there is about a 50/50 chance that he/she will understand the question. A competent tech should know - its right there in the manual. But be sure to call it by its complete name "Hydraulic System Flush". Even then, the service writer may not know what you are talking about.

Thanks, Wrecker3.

This looks like a form that should have been in the package of documents when I purchased the car. It is not.

May I ask where you got it?
