I installed a ZR1-style spoiler on my C8 Stingray and now the digital rearview mirror camera is mostly blocked because the spoiler sits higher than most GM high wings. I heard some people have done a tilt mod and adjusting or shimming the interior camera (the one that feeds the mirror, not the backup cam) by removing the rearview camera housing, insert thin plastic shims or washers behind the camera module to point it slightly downward. Has anyone here actually done that? How did you tilt it, and did it help with visibility? Any pics or tips would be appreciated.
Or has anyone successfully replaced the camera (the one above the rear glass that feeds the mirror) with a wider-angle aftermarket camera? Is that even possible or worth it?
I’m trying to figure out what my options are because it’s pretty bad and I refuse to believe there’s no workaround. Below is a picture of the view.
Thank you!

For anyone who’s curious, I did remove the camera and tried adjusting it upwards and downwards and test drove both scenarios and it did not help much so the solution that i’m going to do is rewire and relocate the camera to the bumper and drill a hole for it similar to how the new ZR1is.

I don't know how to do it, but I think you must change the mounting height of the camera. Tilting will just change the angle of the field of view, but the line of sight between the camera, and that car in your example image will still go right through the spoiler. Even if the camera has a wider field of view, if mounted at the same hieght, the line of sight to the car will still go through the spoiler. In the example, I show moving the camera lower to illustrate the point. But I don't know if there is actually room to do that, and other parts of the car structure will also become an issue.
Thank you for that illustration, that is exactly the conclusion I ran into. I put a blue tape on my garage door and adjusted the camera position upward and downward to see if at any point I'd see the tape which in that case would be the car behind me and the only way to achieve that is to relocate the camera location itself. I decided that I will wait until the C8 ZR1 diagrams become available to the public or parts become avialable hopefully by next year so I can see what kind of harness they are using to run the camera all the way to the bumper since it loses voltage if I manually run a longer harness and I also want to see if they are using the same rear view mirror camera part number or a different water proof one similar to the reverse camera.
