In the process of passing California emissions for my MacMulkin purchased new 2025 Eray. I can’t seem to get my Innova 5210 scanner to access/display the I/M information consistently, as in almost never. I’m waiting on the “O2 not ready to test” to clear. Have I got a defective scanner or am I doing something wrong? I’m really hoping the Forum can deliver on this one.

Thanks in advance.
I have seen that scanner message in older cars and it required driving it through different conditions ......cruising , accelerating , idling in gear /park /accessories on etc a number of shut offs and runs , wot .
Your scanner is likely NOT defective, just have not reached the threshold needed to get car ready. Personally, I go on a long/mixed drive and then use my own scanner to check if car is ready. Then swing by my local smog shop and request for a "courtesy" scan (NOT connected for actual smog) to make sure.

I’ve been trying to emulate the requirements for 500 miles to no avail , but thanks for the input.
c5 's could take less than an hour sometimes if ya did an idle re-learn first then a blast down the highway getting the car to shift at least once under WOT
Well I finally got a pass on the emissions test. I ended up going to a Bureau of Automotive Repair smog testing referee station. I had to show the standard emissions test where the O2 I/M report showed not ready after three attempts and 500 miles on the odometer. I had to show a receipt for payment of all fees and taxes and have them inspect the car to confirm that the engine was unmodified and was tagged “California Compliant”. The car dazzled in the mid day sun, the tech didn’t want to drive the car and he was super protective of the paint. I was quite impressed actually.
