How to use jack stands?
I just got a 2024 Z51 and haven’t been under it yet.
But got a jacking/jack stand question for working on brakes or suspension with wheels off.
I did a search but didn’t see a definite answer other than to buy a QuickJack or special pucks that fit in expensive jack stands (without any explanation of how to place those jack stands with the jack at the same location)
I had a C5 Z06 for 22 years
On the C5, you could use jack pucks and a floor jack on each side to raise the front fairly high
Then, under the car there is an large exposed aluminum frame in the center of the car where I would put a cut-to-length piece of 2” x 12” and then put jack stands under the wood.
Same with rear.
Are there a similar places under the C8?
If not, how do you use jack stands?

I want to use 4 jack stands. So according to the link you sent, can I do one side at a time. Only works if the balance point of the car is mostly rearward, right?

Note Warning! Only use Jack Stands on one end of the Car at a time! Smart!
This works fine for the front as no Teeter Totter balance issue.
This has worked for me when changing the rear tires on my E-Ray. Just be careful jacking and only rear to avoid. Place small base jack stand close to GM Oval lift slot with jack. Be sure you are on frame.
Have changed brake pads on my 2020 C8 Z51 BUT only one end at a time.
Far safer if changing oil/filter to use wheel stanchions. Have 12 inch high commercial stanchions BUT have to jack to high unless as I did when i built my Street Rod in 2000 was on a creeper for over a month!
Far easier to make your own for ~$15 as I did in 2014 and have used for 10 years.
All started with this Pic of a 2020 C8 that fell!
Even occurred a few years later with this C8 Z06
After considering the Pics of fallen Vettes and where the average tech might place their post lift arms with large pads IMO it's as likely they tried to lift on what looks like a good spot. The large area I marked with the Red Triangle. It's NOT the frame. Heck even a Pro Tech like Chuck (where Conti is a salesman) is not putting his head on the ground to find the Oval Lift Slot! Why I give the Tech who works on my cars my 4 jack pads so the very large pads on his center post lift don't just contact in the Red Triangle Area! He always uses!
Good example where my Jack Pads help my tech gain access to the 4 outer bolts on the aluminum aero/shear plate!
